Modern Twist on the Bun

Last post I gave you the traditional Ballet Bun and I do hope that helped those parents were struggling. After I posted it I then saw a picture on Facebook of someone who took the Ballet Bun and added a twist! This tutorial is how to make a braided Ballet Bun. Great for special events and of course in the Dance Stuido!

The good thing about this hairstyle is that is very strong, and you can dance and jump around with it without ruining the look. You could even wear it all day at School and then go to Ballet without worring about your Hair.

Step 1: To give it some hold and make it easier to style spray some hair spray.

Step 2: Comb your hair and separate it into sections. Two small ones in the front, left and right side and one big section in the back which is gathered in a ponytail and secure with an elastic band.

Step 3: Take a small section of hair from the ponytail and start braiding slowly and take different hair strands from the sections in the front of your head and insert them into the braid. Go around the head like you are making a bun, follow the pictures to your left.

Step 4: Secure the end with a small hair elastic and hide it in the bun with some bobby pins. Add some hairspray for an even better hold.

Hope to see this in my Dance Studio soon!
